Two people were killed and two others were injured Tuesday night in an east valley crash, according to Metro Police. Officers and medics responded about 9 p.m. to the crash near Sahara Avenue and Carillo Street, near Lamb Boulevard, Lt. David Gordon said. The people killed were in a two-door vehicle, Gordon said. One died at the scene and the other at a hospital.

3 people were detained after they reportedly beat up an employee at a local Subway. It happened at 7040 S. Durango Drive. 2 males and a female ordered food at the Subway and left without paying. When the employee confronted them in the parking lot, they beat him up and took his car. The victim’s vehicle was located at the RIO and the 3 people were detained. The employee did not require hospitalization

Officers are investigating the scene, which took place on Barbara Lane near Las Vegas Boulevard and Saint Rose Parkway. The woman's 16-year-old son called police shortly after midnight to report that his mom had been shot by his stepfather. Three other children under the age of 10 were reportedly also in the home at the time of the shooting.

This homicide was called 8 minutes after midnight. Police have blocked off the entrance to the neighborhood and Metro's air unit was circling above the scene. Per Metro, the shooter is still on the loose.

An officer or officers with the Sparks Police Department were involved in a shooting reported late Wednesday night near Rock and Oddie boulevards, police have confirmed. Authorities have gathered at an apartment complex between Rock and 12th Street for the investigation.

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at the Westgate early Tuesday morning. The fire was called in just before 5 a.m. to the hotel-casino at 3000 Paradise Road. When firefighters arrived they found “smoldering trash” in a kitchen, according to Clark County Fire Department Deputy Chief Jeff Buchanan.

Troopers identified the California couple killed in a motorcycle crash Friday night west of Mountain Springs. They were Bill Dinh, 65, and Mary Nguyen, 64, both of Garden Grove, California, Nevada Highway Patrol spokesman Jason Buratczuk said.
