Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash. It was reported on Wednesday morning on the U.S. 95 at Rainbow Boulevard. Investigators say a vehicle rolled over and one person is dead.
Las Vegas Metro police said one person died in a collision early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at 2:10 a.m. on Jones Boulevard north of Deer Springs Way, near Elkhorn Road.

Police said a man was injured in a west Las Vegas Valley shooting Tuesday night. Police responded about 9:51 p.m. to 2800 S. Decatur Boulevard, near Sahara Avenue, where a man was shot, Lt. David Gordon said. A man showed up at an apartment, knocking on the door when a neighbor came out and an altercation occurred. Police said it escalated and the victim was shot several times.

A man was in critical condition and a woman was injured after a rollover crash near Mt. Charleston. Authorities responded just after 5 p.m. to a Toyota that rolled over on State Route 156, ejecting the male driver. He was airlifted to University Medical Center in critical condition, Trooper Smaka said. The vehicle was driving eastbound toward U.S. 95.

Two off-duty Nevada Highway Patrol troopers spotted a plume of smoke in the sky over the central valley. They followed the dark cloud to the Cornerstone Crossing Apartments at 6666 W. Washington Ave., where the husband and wife, later identified as troopers Joseph and Trissa DellaBella, found an apartment building engulfed in flames.

A suspect in a homicide case that began at Boomtown Casino west of Reno has been identified and arrested in a Northern California city, according to police. The case began on Monday, Feb. 26, when officers found a body with a gunshot wound at Boomtown. The victim was identified as 53-year-old David McMillan of Reno.
A tour bus carrying no passengers crashed into an east-valley bus stop Thursday night, hitting and killing a woman, Las Vegas police said. The bus was heading east on Desert Inn Road when it left the road about 8:05 p.m. and hit a bus stop east of the road’s intersection with Eastern Avenue, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Ken Romane said. The bus hit a woman at the stop.
Firefighters doused a fire inside of an under-construction Strip property Thursday night, firefighters said. Crews found heavy smoke coming from the sixth floor of an office space inside of The Drew Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Fire Department. They found building materials in the space had caught fire.

A 33-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday after North Las Vegas police said she carried a pickax onto a school campus and threatened children while they were at lunch. Police said just before noon, a resident near Tom Williams Elementary School, located at 3000 E. Tonopah Ave., called police regarding a woman who was carrying a pickax as she was climbing over the school's chain link fence. 250 children were outside at the time.

A Las Vegas man was sentenced to more than 12 years in prison Thursday after he was found guilty of receiving child pornography. Frankie Allen Peraza, 39, was convicted last year on one count of receipt of child pornography, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. The department said an investigation launched by the FBI and the Metropolitan Police Department found Peraza had downloaded more than 100 photos and 100 videos of child pornography through a peer-to-peer file sharing program.
A man who brought a stolen handgun to a self-help meeting and then pointed the gun at officers last year was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison. Marcus Richard Thomas, 36, was sentenced after previously pleading guilty to a count of possessing a stolen firearm. He brought a stolen 9 mm Glock handgun to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting March 31 and pointed it a Metropolitan Police Department officer, according to a plea agreement cited by the Department of Justice.
